The Story Behind Rooftop Trails
A lot of us don’t really think about things from such a far-out perspective, but every now and then, if we’re fortunate, we’ll have a moment that really shifts our worldview and makes us feel connected to everyone around us.
For me, that moment came when I was a teenager living in Concepcion, Chile. It was a city where social status was pretty much stamped on you from birth, and it stuck with you for life.
One day, I climbed up to the roof, and had this bird’s-eye view of the entire city. There was an intricate network of buildings, and I started jumping from rooftop to rooftop, way above the busy streets. From that height, everyone looked the same. I could not tell who was rich or poor, high up in the social ladder or down below. They were all just people, going about their lives.

When I started this venture, I wanted a name that embodied the idea of unity in diversity. While we’re not all identical, we each contribute to a larger whole. Like millions of ants in a colony, we each do our own thing but work together toward a common goal. Those rooftop adventures showed me how changing your perspective can transform everything.
